Namibia - Protecting rhinos | Global 3000

Poachers almost killed off the last remaining black rhino living wild in Africa in the 1980's. Almost all species of rhino are endangered. In 2014 poachers killed 16 black rhinos in Namibia alone. Rhinos are big business for poachers. They can earn up to €2000 for 100 g. of rhino horn in Asia. Now Namibia is training former poachers to work as rangers in a bid to protect these rare animals.
